"The wildflower program was a delightful educational experience to learn about flowers and trees in the classroom, and then spend a beautiful spring Saturday on the Crabtree Falls Trail."

Prime Life Ed-Ventures is a lifelong learning program for people 45 years of age and older. It is managed by the Appalachian State University Center at Hickory, North Carolina.

The program features no membership, no tests, no grades, and no pressure. It is a pay-as-you-go program that allows you to come together with other people in the Greater Hickory Metro region to learn about specific topics of interest in a relaxed and interesting atmosphere.

Topics range from the fun of learning to play bridge - to understanding fundamentalism and terrorism in the modern world. Leaders are hand-picked to offer participants the very best in quality instruction. They come from academia, business, and other areas of expertise.

Individual topics may be offered as single sessions or in a series. Courses may be offered during either daytime or evening hours, on weekdays or Saturdays.

We hope you’ll take a moment now to take a look at upcoming topics for Prime Life Ed-Ventures. We also welcome your input about this exciting lifelong learning program. Please direct your e-mails to karen.summey@hmhec.org or call 828-324-6966, extension 2008.

Thanks for visiting - and we hope to see you in one of our Ed-Ventures soon!
