Stopping Time: The Art and Science of Doc Edgerton's Life Work will be offered in collaboration with the Hickory Museum of Art (HMA) and Catawba Science Center (CSC). A free exhibition of high-speed photographs will be on display at HMA from March 22 to August 24.

In conjunction with the exhibition, HMA and CSC will present Experimenting with High Speed Phenomena on April 26. At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. a free lecture and demo will include high-speed events under flash lighting.

From 2 to 5 p.m., a high-speed photography workshop will teach participants how to take high-speed photos.

These two events will be led by Dr. Loren Winters, professor of high-speed imaging and physics at NC School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, NC.

Seating is limited to 20 for the afternoon workshop. Cost for the afternoon is $50 for HMA or CSC members and $65 for non-members. A photogate trigger kit with electronic time delay will also be available for an additional $20.
